Orient defender eager for to get over their little ‘knock’ at Deepdale tomorrow night.
Leyton Orient make the trip to Preston North End on Friday and defender Scott Cuthbert is keen for the O’s to get over the little ‘knock’ they suffered last weekend.
Fabio Liverani’s side were unable to make it three wins on the spin after losing out to Fleetwood Town 1-0 on Saturday, and the 27-year-old is keen to make sure they get back to winning ways immediately.
“A positive result would have us looking up the table and trying to chase the pack that’s ahead of us,” said Cuthbert.
“Unfortunately that defeat has just made us look over our shoulders a little bit.
“We need to put it right on Friday. The defeat is only a little knock.
“We have been heading in the right direction and everyone has got to stay positive so we can push on and step up the table.”
There have been plenty of changes at Orient this season, with a number of backroom staff arrivals and departures.
And despite the larger backroom staff this term, Cuthbert feels that is a positive thing and despite some inconsistent results, feels things are looking a lot brighter on the whole at the club.
“It’s a bit different from last year where we had quite a close-knit small group of coaches and there’s now quite a few,” he added.
“People can look at that negatively but we look at it as positive as we can.
“There’s a lot of experience there and a lot of people who have played at a higher level and it’s a different philosophy of playing and you have to buy into that which we are as individuals and as a team.
“Slowly but surely you can see it is turning on the pitch. I didn’t think we played too bad against Fleetwood. I thought on a different day we could have nicked a goal and got a draw.”
