Maybe my time is up, says midfielder

Leyton Orient midfielder Dean Cox admits he will have to review his future at the club with the January transfer window looming.

The 27-year-old is the club’s current longest-serving player having joined from Brighton & Hove Albion in June 2010 and has represented the O’s on 235 occasions.

Cox came off the bench in yesterday’s 2-0 loss at Barnsley, but was unable to help the O’s turn it around, and they now sit joint bottom of League One.

And with all the changes that have gone at the club, the midfielder feels January maybe the time for him to seek a fresh challenge

“I am here and I am trying my best every game I am involved in,” said Cox.

“It’s a big change but we might have to review it – I don’t know. We will wait and see.

“I have to review what is going on. It is a bit difficult at the moment and I have been here five years now – maybe my time is up.”

The midfielder was on the bench in Yorkshire having picked up an ankle knock in training and though admitting the first half viewing wasn’t great, he felt there was an improvement in the second perio

“I took a knock in training and it was a bit sore so I was on the bench,” he added.

“I tried to contribute but it was 2-0 already and maybe it was bit too little too late.

“It was a bad start and we didn’t really create much. We take spirit in the second half performance.

“We have had a few shots at goal and balls going across the box and not being clinical enough but we do need to be better.”
