Kingsford Community School were crowned Newham’s five-a-side champions last week.

The Beckton pupils were third in the preliminary tournament to qualify and won three of five games for a spot at South East finals. The national finals are at Derby.

Kingsford beat Lister (3-0), but were edged out 1-0 by St Bonaventure’s, before a 1-1 draw with Royal Docks.

They defeated Rokeby (1-0) and Forest Gate (4-0) to come out on top, with Luke Grant netting five goals as player of the tournament.

Kingsford: Okungbowa, Grant, Makesa, Thompson, Black, Baginski, Gondim, Howett.
