Essex County FA are looking to launch tutor training course

Essex County FA coaching course organisers are gauging the interest from prospective new teachers or coaches who would like to attend a Junior Football Leader (JFL) Tutor Training Course in the coming months.

The JFL provides a basic introduction to the leadership skills required when involved in football. It primarily concerns four areas: assisting football activity sessions, an introduction to refereeing, helping with a team and different football events. In addition to these, subjects such as respect, promoting the game and developing the game are embedded during the guided learning hours.

Strict criteria exist to become a tutor, and applicants must either be a practising PE specialist with qualified teacher status or possess the FA Level Two coaching and FA youth module one qualifications plus the FA generic tutor training certificate.

The cost is yet to be confirmed, but it is expected to be around £50. This includes a certificate and a JFL tutor pack containing notes, coaching cards, referee resource cards and activity cards.

Once enough interest has been generated, the Essex County FA will aim to arrange a course, with the venue dependent on the location of the potential applicants.

Candidates will be contacted with an application form, plus dates and a venue, once everything has been finalised. To register your interest, visit http://eventspace.thefa.com/essexfa/RITT.
