Daggers had much of the ball, but were unable to do much with it in defeat to O’s

John Still was disappointed with the lack of threat from Dagenham & Redbridge in the final third in their 2-0 defeat in the National League at Leyton Orient, despite enjoying plenty of the ball.

Daggers succumbed to a second straight defeat in the league, with second-half goals from Josh Coulson and Macauley Bonne guiding the O’s to victory.

Despite the final score, and being away from home, it was the Essex club who had the majority of possession, but were unable to do much with it.

Perhaps the closest the Victoria Road outfit came to scoring came near the end of the match when winger Dan Sparkes fired a Morgan Ferrier into the side netting.

It was a poor attacking display from Daggers which frustrated their manager, especially after what he believed to be a good showing in the opening period.

“In the first half, I thought we were good and did OK; in fact, I was very pleased,” said Still.

“I thought we had a mad 10 minutes in the second half. The first goal was a poor one for us to concede, but I don’t know enough about the second to give an opinion.

“For the amount of ball we had, and particular the amount of corners and free kicks we had as the game went on, we didn’t have many efforts at goal.

“I don’t think either side had enough efforts across 90 minutes, but we certainly didn’t and didn’t cause them enough problems.”
