The East Londoners travel to N5 to contest the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup with a place in the semi-finals at stake.

The Gunners could not break down a disciplined Irons defence last Wednesday at the London Stadium during a 0-0 draw in the Premier League, with the home backline looking far more organised under new appointment David Moyes.

But the long-serving Frenchman confirmed pacy winger Theo Walcott would start as he looked to rotate his squad.

Speaking ahead of the game, which will be the club’s seventh in 21 days, Wenger said: “Theo is 100 per cent, he will play on Tuesday.

“Some players are a little bit on the edge. I think as well that we have so many quality players who did not start on Saturday, so you cannot say that you prefer to play a player who has played three games in six days to a guy who is at the same level and is completely fresh.

“The players who will start are basically all international players, so that’s why I think [squad rotation] makes sense.

“You have as well to show the trust and the confidence that we have in the players who did not start last week.”

Wenger also confirmed Aaron Ramsey is now running again after a slight hamstring strain, but will still be out for another week at least, with a return date of early January looking more likely.

Shkodran Mustafi is also back in training, but will not be used against the Hammers, as Arsenal attempt to progress in the only domestic trophy Wenger has failed to lift.
