Games chiefs reveal how much a ticket will cost for London 2012

A TICKET for the 2012 London Olympics could cost as little as £16 depending on your age and as much as £100, the Games’ organisers revealed today.

The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) outlined its ticket pricing structure across the 26 sports Games.

8.8 million tickets will be made available with three-quarters on sale to the public from next March.

Nine out of ten tickets will be priced at £100 or under with two-thirds of them costing

£50 or less and 2.5 million tickets priced at £20 or under.

The wide range of ticket prices will see those at the higher end of the market balancing the availability of millions of lower price tickets on sale.

All tickets for events in and around London include a travelcard and LOCOG has absorbed the impact of the recent VAT increase to ensure best possible value for spectators.

London 2012 also revealed details of ticketshare scheme, which will see many thousands of school children receiving tickets to the Games.

London 2012 will have more tickets on sale for disabled people than any previous Olympic Games in history, said LOCOG.
