The Bethnal Green club squad, captained by Ryan Pickard and including Lawrence Okoele and guest boxer Karol Ozimkowski (Broad Street), face a strong Irish select squad on Friday.

■ Newham’s Dean Gunning landed the more effective shots to clinch a points win over Bracknell rival Frank Hadaway on the Berry Boys show in Basildon on Saturday.

However, clubmate Farim Ali lost a verdict to John Soundy (Canvey) and another Newham boxer, Muhummad Ismael Islam, was outpointed by home club boxer Terry Ellis on the Hornchurch show.

■ Broad Street super-middleweight Georgie White was a winner on the Berry show, dropping his rival Ashley Surin (Bromley) with a body punch on his way to a unanimous points win.
