Eddie Hearn has added a new knockout bonus to Saturday’s Betfair Prizefighter light-middleweights III contest, with £2,000 being handed out for every stoppage.
The show is being staged at York Hall and will be screened live on Sky Sports.
“I think the new knockout bonus will make things very interesting,” said promoter Hearn. “It’s what the fans want to see and the fighters will be more inclined to get their opponent out of there before the final bell.”
Four names have been added to the line-up – Scottish southpaw Kris Carslaw, Birmingham’s Terry Carruthers, Middlesex boxer Ryan Toms and unbeaten prospect Larry Ekundayo complete the eight-fighter line-up, all hoping to claim the £32,000 winner’s cheque.
Carslaw fought Brian Rose for the British light-middleweight title in June, pushing the Blackpool man the distance.
Two-time Southern Area title-winner Toms is looking to bounce back from his English title defeat to Erick Ochieng and Carruthers may get the chance to avenge his 2010 British Masters title defeat to Carslaw.
Ekundayo comes into the tournament off the back of an exciting start to his professional career.
The 30-year-old scored an impressive debut victory in March and followed that with a convincing points win in a Prizefighter Prospects bout in June.
The quartet join Craig McEwan, Peter Vaughan, Curtis Valentine and Nav Mansouri in the eight-fighter knockout competition.
