Stratford athlete Christine Ohuruogu has been nominated for a prestigious end-of-year award.

Ohuruogu, who clinched a dramatic 400m gold medal in the World Championships in Moscow, is one of six women hoping to be the Sunday Times and Sky Sports Sportswoman of the Year.

Victory would cap another remarkable year for the Newham and Essex Beagle, who won her fourth major championship gold medal with a scintillating display in August breaking the British record.

Ohuruogu is up against triathlete Non Stanford, 
cyclist Becky James, bobsledder Shelley Rudman, dressage rider Charlotte Dujardin and cricketer Heather Knight.

The 29-year-old will find out whether she has won on Thursday, December 5.
