Croydon Harrier shows disappointing form in Olympic Stadium

Lawrence Okoye saw his maiden Olympic Games campaign come to an end tonight in the men’s discus final.

The Croydon Harrier went out in the first round of the final, following three poor throws.

The 20-year-old former Whitgift School pupil threw 61.03 metres in his first attempt before fouling with his second, which fell around the 55m mark.

With the pressure building, Okoye was clearly feeling the heat of competition in the final, throwing a third attempt of 60.11, which wasn’t enough to take him through to the second round.
