The 24-year-old sealed his place in the final in routine fashion.
Newham & Essex Beagles Robbie Grabarz successfully negotiated the high jump qualification rounds with comparative ease tonight.
Grabarz was able to clear heights of 2.21, 2.26 and 2.29m at the first attempt to make sure of his spot in the finals, which take place on Tuesday at 7pm.
The 24-year-old has enjoyed a stellar season to date, setting a new personal best of 2.36m in June, which put him second in the world rankings for the season.
And he survived any possible scares with an easy path through to the final, where it is hoped he will medal.
Mark Pettini kept his cool to see Essex to their second LV= County Championship Division Two victory of the season by beating Glamorgan by five wickets with seven balls to spare at Cardiff.
