East End Road Runners at the Loch Ness marathon


East End Road Runners saw nine of their members take on the Loch Ness Marathon in Scotland at the weekend.

Ian Pithouse finished in a new personal best of three hours six seconds, as Sarah Bemand clocked 4:48 on her distance debut.

Stuart and Claire Adamson, Ravindra Luggah, Marc Upton, Simon Downs, Richard Charwood and Martina Lee were also in action north of the border.

Becca White clocked 1:54 in the Forest of Dean half marathon, while Rachel Terry, Mark Sheraton and Lisa Garcia were all in action at the Ealing half marathon, where Terry recorded a new best of 1:49.

A group of 30 members were in action at the last round of the East London Five Interclub Series at Valentines Park.

East End Road Runners are based at Newham Leisure Centre and train on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 7pm. The club welcomes all ages and abilities and more details are at
