Newham schools, hospices and charities got a cash boost from Waitrose Stratford City when they announced the organisations they have chosen to be part of their grants programme.
Newham schools, hospices and charities got a cash boost from Waitrose Stratford City when it announced the organisations it has chosen to be part of its grants’ programme.
Since opening, the store in the Westfield shopping centre has given £5,000 to groups as part of its Community Matters scheme.
Waitrose choose three organisations a month for a share a grant of up to £1,000. Twelve of the groups gathered last week to thank staff.
Schools benefiting are Carpenters Primary, Rokeby School and Sarah Bonnel School, from Stratford; Woodgrange Infant School, from Forest Gate and Homeleigh Primary, Hackney.
Nurseries Tollgate Children’s Centre in Beckton and Ascension After School Play Club in Custom House received grants along with Richard House and St Joseph’s children’s hospices.
