Where’s Samuel L Jackson when you need him? It wasn’t quite a case of snakes on a plane, but snakes in a park in East Ham.
Police were called to Plashet Park to reports of two snakes on the loose on Sunday, July 13.
The two animals were between 6ft and 8ft long and close to a children’s playpark.
PC Simon Furia stepped in to prevent the snakes - which were believed at the time to be pythons - from disappearing into the undergrowth.
Using a litter picker and a brown paper bag, he managed to retrieve them.
They were taken to a local pet shop which identified them as boa constrictors.
No injuries were reported, but around 40 members of the public gathered to watch the unusual scene unfold.
The video above, by reader Muhammed Abdullah, shows the capture of one of the snakes, and contains one instance of strong language.
