Stratford residents angry about a nearby sexual health and abortion clinic have taken their protests to the headquarters of their housing association.

Around 15 residents and neighbours addressed a petition to Mike Sweeny, chief executive of One Housing, claiming they were misled by the planning application for the British Pregnancy Advisory Service (BPAS) centre on Romford Road which simply read “clinic” online.
The campaign is now continuing with a team of protestors distributing information flyers outside the association’s base in Chalk Farm, north London.
Local resident and former Newham councillor Alan Craig said: “Residents have a right to be informed and consulted on such a matter.”
A spokesman for One Housing said: “We have a number of commercial properties across London most of which are located within mixed tenure developments.
“The safety and wellbeing of our residents and the local community is our key priority, so we take care to select businesses which will cause the least noise disturbance.
“We do not have any political or religious affilations and do not discriminate against any type of business.”
Daniel Blackman, a spokesperson for the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children, said: “Abortion is already a very controversial issue which makes this situation even more unacceptable.
”This was just the first of our protests outside One Housing. We plan to be back.”
