Police are investigating a collision that has left a 12-year-old girl with a foot injury officers describe as “life-changing”.
The young girl was crossing Water Lane in Stratford at the junction with Romford Road at 8.07am on Thursday when she collided with a Ford Transit taxi-cab travelling south.
Her father attended the scene with police and she was taken to hospital in an ambulance after reports a bone was seen protruding from her foot.
Surgeons operated and she is said to be in a stable condition.
The driver, who was at the scene, was not arrested but he was reported for driving without due care and attention.
Police burst through the doors of 13 suspected gang members today in a series of dawn raids to crack down on street violence.
