More than 180 people donned their best Christmas clothing to take on the Festive Run on Saturday.
Santas, elves and Rudolphs added merry spirit to the 5k and 2k runs as they turned Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park red and white.
The day, being held for the third consecutive year, included a themed fun run and some warm-up dance exercise.
Coral Nourrice, athletics activator for activeNewham and the race organiser, thanked all the participants for making it a fun day.
“Everyone had a great time, the atmosphere was great, everyone was having fun and a laugh,” she said.
“The feedback was great and I think a few of the people had done the Halloween run and come back because they enjoyed it.
“The weather held up as well and we finished about half an hour before it started raining.”
ActiveNewham had many volunteers helping out on the day, who were guiding the runners round the route.
“We also had a donation of fruit from Montgomery’s in Spitalfields Market, which was great.”
She added that the Easter run will be returning to the park next year and all Easter bunnies and eggs are welcome.
