The owners of a Royal Docks Chinese kiosk who were ordered to close their business have been given consent to remain open until next month.
Lee Thresher and his wife Lisa Kwok, of Wok On, have settled out of court with landlords Royal Docks Management Authority (RODMA) after being told to vacate their premises near the Emirates Cable Car.
Hundreds of people signed a petition calling for the kiosk to remain open, including MP Lyn Brown.
Lee said he was pleased by the support received by members of the public and that the kiosk will remain open through the summer until September 8.
“We have managed to put up a bit of a fight and stay an extra couple of months,” he said. “It’s a hard business and we just couldn’t keep up with the competition.”
The couple are yet to decide whether they will remain in the catering trade.
