St Patrick’s Day isn’t a typical excuse for a non-uniform day - but one Canning Town student decided he could use it to raise money for charity.
Kamran Hussein, who is in year 11 at Rokeby School, suggested that staff and students should wear an item of green and pay a pound to the NSPCC.
He created a poster campaign to encourage his classmates to join in and managed to raise £102.
Kamran, who dyed his hair green for the day, said: “I wanted to do some thing that would make a difference for children who are suffering hard times.
“I want to help them raise their expectations and to achieve their potential.”
