The University of East London and the Invertebrate Conservation Trust have found a new home for one of the UK’s most endangered invertebrates – the streaked bombardier beetle.
The beetle has only recently been found on a few ex-industrial sites in the Thames Gateway.
Fifteen beetles were rescued and have been re-homed on a new site at UEL’s Docklands Campus.
Police burst through the doors of 13 suspected gang members today in a series of dawn raids to crack down on street violence.
