Princess Anne was in Stratford today meeting students at the Building Craft College.
The Princess Royal, who is president of the City and Guilds of London Institute, which the college is part of, also met Principal Len Conway as she was shown around the premises in Kennard Road.
The college situated between Stratford Station and the Olympic Park specialises in carpentry, stonemasonry, conservation and building work.
At the end of her visit Princess Anne unveiled a plaque to mark her visit.
Police burst through the doors of 13 suspected gang members today in a series of dawn raids to crack down on street violence.
