The old East Ham Grammar School for Girls in Plashet Grove East Ham opened in 1932. 40 years later it joined Plashet County Secondary School for Girls (with a bridge to link the two) and became Plashet Secondary School for Girls. It is now called Plashet School.

Plashet School has an active Old Students Association (POSA) which has its own website www.posa-newham.co.uk and they hold a reunion every other year at the schools.

The next reunion is to be held in the old Grammar School building on June 30 from 12.30pm to 4.30pm. Organisers are hoping that all ex pupils of all the schools mentioned can attend as it is a special anniversary year.

At each reunion the POSA present awards. This year 5 awards for Citizen of the Year for 2011 (for outstanding service to the Community) will go to Eimen Qureshi Year 7, Harmeet Kaur Year 8, Shannon Haslam Year 9,

Thekshayeni Thanabalasingham Year 10 and Khadeeja Patel Year 11.
