Newham Leisure Centre in Plaistow held an open day for people with disabilities to celebrate 100 days until the Paralympic Games.

Cllrs Sheila Thomas, Neil Wilson, Charity Fiberesima, and Forhad Hussain gave their support to the event on Saturday May 26 along with over 100 disabled Newham residents with their families and carers.

The councillors even joined in with a game of wheelchair basketball.

All four Newham Leisure Centres will be celebrating 50 days until the Olympic Games on Thursday June 7 with activities including fitness challenges with prizes, pool races, pool Olympics including javenlin throwing, volleyball and mini polo.
