A person has died after being hit by a train at Stratford tube station.

Greater Anglia services between London and Essex were disrupted after the incident at around 11.30am this morning, though normal service has since resumed.

The person, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Paramedics and British Transport Police attended.

“Officers will now work to establish the person’s identity and inform their family,” said a BTS spokesman.

He said the incident “is not being treated as suspicious” and that a report will be prepared for the coroner.
