Newham family win Olympic taster day competition

Parklife has given away an Olympic taster day to one lucky family.

Joseph George won our competition by correctly answering that West Ham United FC are expected to move into the former Olympic Stadium in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in 2016.

The London Underground planner said he was “excited” to see inside the London Aquatic Centre and Lee Valley VeloPark and plans to take his family, including wife Jobina and children Joslyn, seven, and Georgina, two months, along for the ride.

“I will experience what the world was looking at only two years before,” said the 35-year-old from Newham.

“The most important thing is I will be able to ­experience it all myself.”

A man from Stratford and another from Manor Park were part of a gang who stabbed an innocent party-goer to death for no obvious reason with “venomous, hate-fuelled force”, a court heard today.
