An “egg-straordinary” 517 Easter eggs were provided to disadvantaged children by the leather-clad philanthropists for the

Bikers Easter Egg Run on April 12.

The annual event organised by local charity Community Links saw more than 70 bikers put their pedals to the metal to help children who would otherwise go without eggs this Easter.

One easy-rider named Chris Ward earned himself a special mention by delivering 110 Easter eggs.

A bucket collection on the day raised a further £96.13 with which to buy egg-stra eggs.

The bikers were thanked by former Deputy Mayor of Newham Christine Bowden at Community Links’ headquarters in Barking Road.

Kevin Jenkins, co-founder of Community Links, said: “A truly brilliant record breaking run that will ensure a really special Easter this yea for our areas most disadvantaged children. We cannot thank the bikers enough for their kindness and generosity.”
