The Islamic Circles Supplementary School, which has helped 900 children boost their English, maths and science skills, invited current and former pupils to the celebration event.

They enjoyed a bouncy castle, a sumo wrestling ring and face painting at the Froud Centre.

Trustee and volunteer Sharlin Ahmed said: “It’s fantastic that ICSS has been running for a decade and that all the volunteers, families and students past and present were able to come together to celebrate its 10 year anniversary along with the support of the patrons Rev Brian Lewis and Stephen Timms MP.

“We hope to continue helping the next generation of children and the community to celebrate again, in another 10 years time!”

The charity is staffed entirely by volunteers and is open to children of all backgrounds.
