Man found hanged in East Ham stairway

A 26-year-old man was found hanged in a communal stairway last night.

Police were called by the ambulance service to a property in Barking Road, East Ham, at 11.12pm following the grim discovery.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A post-mortem was due to be carried out yesterday.

Police officers are investigating the death, which is currently being treated as unexplained.
