Abandoned in a cardboard box on Barking Road two weeks ago, the cat gave birth to five kittens on Sunday July 15.

Sadly, one of the kittens died overnight.

But four of the kittens, pictured, are currently being cared for by volunteers and they will be looking for new homes when they are strong enough to leave their mother in eight week’s time.

A spokesperson at the RSPCA branch said: “Whoever dumped that cat should feel very guilty. The cat should not have been a stray as she is so friendly.”

Anyone interested in giving the cat or her kittens a home should visit the RSPCA, 300 Barking Road, East Ham, E6 3BA.
