A new 196-bed hotel has opened in Canning Town as part of a £600million development project.

The property in Silvertown Way forms part of the Hallsville Quarter, a new town centre created in the wider Canning Town and Custom House regeneration programme.

Hotel firm ibis says the new site has created 25 jobs.

“When you think of cool areas in London you naturally look east,” said company spokesman James Wheatcroft.

“Canning Town is a brilliantly located, up and coming area, so we’re delighted that our hotel is an integral part of its regeneration.”

The property, located opposite Canning Town station, offers air-conditioning and free wifi in all its rooms.

A 24-hour reception service is on site, as well as a restaurant and café bar with beans provided by East London coffee roasters Climpson and Sons.
