More than 300 people put on their scariest outfits to take part in a 2k or 5k run on Saturday.

The day, organised to mark the festive celebrations, included a spooky themed fun run and some warm-up dance exercises at the site of London 2012.

Coral Nourrice, athletics activator, said: “It’s the biggest one we’ve had since we started, it was a massive turnout and everyone really enjoyed themselves.

“It was a very successful run and the feedback we got was great.”

The festive runs are organised by England Athletics in partnership with activeNewham and Active People Active Park.

The Christmas fun run will take place on Saturday, December 10.
