A crowdfunding page has been set up to help a law graduate left “isolated” by multiple sclerosis (MS) buy a mobility scooter.

Sienna Ahmed, 29, says she hasn’t left her Stratford home “socially” in two years after developing secondary progressive MS in 2013.

The budding barrister is set to miss her best friend’s wedding this weekend as she is unable to walk more than 200 steps on crutches.

Sienna said: “We have been talking about this since we first met and how amazing it is going to be. I missed her hen night too.”

Now, a gofundme page has been set up by Sienna’s friend Abiola John to raise £6,000 for a mobility scooter and new front path in order to help the “go-getter” regain her independence.

Sienna, who claims her ex-husband walked out on her once she started using crutches, said the equipment would enable her to walk her dog Clover and go to church.

“I want to go back to normal and be able to meet all the people I used to see,” she said. “It is so lonely at the moment.”

The part-time administration office worker currently has to pay £7 for every taxi journey she takes to and from work, despite only earning £7.75 per hour.

Bangladeshi-born and US raised Sienna is ineligible for funding support as a non-UK citizen, despite having lived in the country for the last nine years.
