A broken down train at Ilford is causing severe delays for commuters from Stratford to Romford.
Transport for London are advising passengers to seek alternate routes where possible after a passenger train broke down on a stretch of the TfL Rail line between Manor Park and Ilford stations.
The train has also damaged overhead wires, which is causing further delays.
The heaviest delays appear to be between Statford and Romford, but minor delays are expected along the entire length of the line from Liverpool Street to Shenfield.
Disruption is expected until 7pm.
Greater Anglia trains are also being affected.
It reportedly took a train from Liverpool Street to Norwich three hours to get to Goodmayes.
A Network Rail team are on site and are working to resolve the problem.
A Greater Anglia spokesman said: “We apologise for the disruption to your train services this afternoon.
“Greater Anglia and Network Rail are sorry if your journey has been affected by this disruption.”
