Future residents at London’s Olympic Park could design own homes

Future residents at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park might be able to design their own home.
The London Legacy Development Corporation, overseeing the park, is launching an online survey tomorrow to explore how many people are interested in custom build homes.
The survey is open to anyone who works or lives in the London area, but focuses mainly on people working or living in the four neighbouring boroughs: Newham, Waltham Forest, Hackney and Tower Hamlets.
A popular approach in the United States and Europe custom build homes offers occupants a bigger say in the layout and look of their homes.
This can include everything from being directly involved in the interior design to fitting out kitchens and bathrooms. Groups can also collaborate with other households to design outdoor space.
Visit www.londonlegacy.co.uk/custom-build to take part in the survey.
The Legacy Corporation plans to build up to 8,000 homes in five neighbourhoods over the next 18 years.
The online survey will run until 6pm April 9.
