A man from Forest Gate has been charged with the murder of a woman in a Wolverhampton hotel.

Gurminder Singh, 29, of Green Street, appeared at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Friday after being charged with the murder of Amandeep Kaur Hothi last Wednesday.

She was found in a room at the Britannia Hotel in the city centre on March 6. A post mortem revealed that she died as a result of multiple knife wounds.

Singh is due to appear for a plea and case management hearing at the Crown Court on June 27, with the trial scheduled for September 1.
