Major traffic problems as crews tackle blaze
Firefighters are tackling a blaze that has swept through a car repair workshop in Forest Gate.
Four fire appliances are currently at the scene and traffic around the Romford Road area is being diverted away from the incident,
A London Fire Brigade spokesman said the entire workshop in Sprowston Mews is ablaze.
“A gas cylinder is at the scene but as yet is not affecting the situation. We have not established an exclusion zone,” he added.
Four crews - around 25 firefighters, have been at ther scene since the alarm was raised at 1.30pm.
There are no reported injuries.
The comedian Eddie Izzard has hit out at London Mayor Boris Johnson whilst maintaining he is ready for the challenge of pursuing politics himself.
