After 13 months of hype and a successful crowdfunding project, Lauren Pears’ pet project - on Bethnal Green Road near Brick Lane - finally launches on Saturday.

There has been much interest in the cafe since it first gained publicity - its website is already down - and the plan arguably provided the inspiration for House of Hounds, a dog cafe set to open in east London in the next few months.
