It is the place you go to if you need a cook, a cleaner or a PA. Now, our recruitment pages are searching for a elusive millionaire.

The National Lottery has turned to the Newham Recorder’s advertising pages to find the owner of a winning ticket bought in east London with time fast running out to claim the prize. The mystery millionaire has until Sunday July 15.

The ‘millionaires job’ is advertised in this week’s paper and suggests how ‘working life’ might be for them if they claim the ticket before Sunday.

The advert says among the many necessary skills for the job is a ‘commitment to rapidly gain a good working knowledge of the finer things in life’ and ‘an ability to spend and save well, either independently or alongside friends and family’. Unlike most job opportunities, this one does not require applicants to have any previous experience.

The EuroMillions Millionaire Raffle ticket, which was bought for the draw on January 17 in Hackney, has the winning numbers NBJ899770.

A National Lottery spokesperson said: “While the ticket was bought in Hackney we are ‘recruiting’ for our unsuspecting millionaire across East London. The recruitment of a millionaire is certainly one of the more unusual steps we have taken to unite the owner of an unclaimed ticket with their win but we hope it will have the desired effect. Many people find the job of their life in the local paper so why not their life fortune!”

If no-one comes forward, then the prize money, plus all the interest it has generated, will go to the Good Causes – adding to the £28 billion already raised through sales of lottery tickets since The National Lottery launched in November 1994.

Anyone who believes they have the winning ticket for any of the National Lottery draws within the 180-day deadline should call the National Lottery Line on 0845 910 0000.
