A taste of Future Forest in Stratford is in the clouds for the school holidays

A new multi-sensory exhibition has opened in east London in time for the school holidays where youngsters experience the ‘forest of the future’ to understand the natural world.
It has an immersive fruit cloud, a walk-in mist that has a real taste of the flavours of the forest to stimulate the senses.
The Future Forest exhibition which has opened at Stratford’s Westfield centre aims to inspire youngsters to consider the environment and climate change.
“This is to engage young people in the future of our urban environment,” exhibition director Harry Parr explained. “They experience the forest through the fruit cloud in an adventurous way.”
Youngsters have to put on a raincoat when entering the enclosure which is filled with fogging technology that is enhanced with apple, blackberry or peach fruity flavours. They can gulp the edible fog and hear the sounds of an abstract forest soundscape.
Future Forest is in Westfield’s Gallery and Chestnut Plaza until August 3.
