A community group have donated gifts to a hospital’s children’s ward as part of a project to help bring the community together on Good Friday.
Community project Skills Rethink delivered presents to Newham University Hospital’s Rainbow ward as part of the ‘Share The Happiness’ project.
Children recieved Easter eggs and Easter themed arts and crafts material to keep them occupied during their stay at the hospital.
The day was designed to brighten up the patients’ day and was organised by Skills Rethink, who provide activities and educational programmes for people in the local area.
Skills Rethink Director Shagufta Nasreen said: “They were absolutely happy and they enjoyed [it], they had smiles on their faces, even the families were very happy.”
The project run classes from The Gate Library on Woodgrange Road and look to ‘empower the community’ through education.
Shagufta added: “When I looked around the area, I realised there is a huge need to improve through education.”
