East Thames appoints Malcolm Basing as chair for charitable arm East Potential

A housing association covering East London and Essex has appointed a new chair for its charitable arm.
East Thames Group has appointed Malcolm Basing for East Potential.
Mr Basing will work with other board members and directors in delivering employment, training and community programmes for residents, while raising funds for the groups financial and social inclusion work.
With an MA in Economics he has a background in a range of senior marketing, management and trading positions worldwide.
He is currently the chair of Newedge, a global multi-asset brokerage company, and is independent non executive director at wealth management bank Merryl Lynch.
Police burst through the doors of 13 suspected gang members today in a series of dawn raids to crack down on street violence.
