Diamond Jubilee artwork to help Beckton hospice

An artist who painted the Diamond Jubilee River Thames Pageant is selling her work, partly to help a children’s hospice.

Gillian Burrows, who has been painting scenes around London and The Docklands for more than 17 years, produced a number of artworks from Millennium Bridge on June 3.

Images from the work are available as Giclee prints and 250 copies of each are on sale.

Some of the money raised from the sales will go towards funding care and support offered at Richard House Children’s Hospice, based in Beckton.

The hospice offers support to almost 300 families caring for children and young people with life-limiting, life-threatening and complex healthcare needs across London, Essex and the Home Counties.

Gillian said: “The project was a very difficult one as the weather was wet, cold and rainy. I completed an iPad painting and also an original gouache painting of the scene, which I just saved from the rain.

“I will be donating part of the money to Richard House trust which is an amazing Dockland’s hospice looking after terminally-ill children.”

The images are available in three different sizes and cost up to £150 each, including postage and packaging.
