A man and a woman will appear in court tomorrow charged with the murder of Mohammed Yasser Afzal, who was stabbed in the neck and killed inside a minicab firm in Stratford Broadway.

A spokesman for the Met said Gulam Chowdhury, 23, and Nargis Riaz, 20, both from Barking, were arrested on Friday and questioned by officers about the killing, which took place on Monday, March 24.

Police were called around 8pm to reports of a stabbing inside minicab firm E20 Cars. The victim was named as Mohammed Yasser Afzal, who worked as a controller and dispatcher in the office.

The 22-year-old, from Forest Gate, had been fatally stabbed in the neck and died in hospital later that evening.

Detectives investigating his murder said the Gulam Chowdhury and Nargis Riaz will appear in custody at Thames Magistrates Court on Monday.
