Three men arrested over the attempted murder of a Plaistow shopkeeper have been bailed until early October, pending further investigation.

The trio, aged 25, 38 and 49, were arrested in Basildon on July 31 and taken into custody at a north London police station before being released later that day.

They were arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery and attempted murder at Show Supermarket, on the High Street, on October 31.

The 51-year-old shop owner spent two weeks in a coma after he was shot while chasing two men who attempted to rob his shop at gunpoint.
