A 16-year-old boy accused of a spree of linked acid attacks has been charged with an incident in Stratford.

The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was due to appear at Stratford Youth Court today.

He stood accused of 12 offences including grievous bodily harm and possession of an item to discharge a noxious substance, the Metropolitan Police said.

Among the offences, which are all alleged to have taken place in less than 90 minutes on Thursday night, is a charge of attempted robbery and attempt to cause grievous bodily harm with intent against the same man, a moped rider, outside Stratford International station.

Further, similar, charges relate to five incidents alleged to have taken place across the boroughs of Hackney and Islington.

A15-year-old boy who was arrested at an address in Stoke Newington on Friday morning on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and robbery has been released on bail until a date in early August.
