A Stratford man is one of three MI6 believe has vital information about the killing of US journalist James Foley.

The SAS is closing in on the man known as ‘John’, suspected of being from London, and the Telegraph reports that MI6 are trying to locate three men who they believe could hold vital information.

Razul Islam, 21, is the brother of NHS doctor Shajul Islam, who was arrested and charged with kidnapping a British journalist, John Cantlie, in 2012 but was released when his trial collapsed.

Razul is thought to be in Syria while his medic brother is suspended from his duties at St Barts Hospital.

A second man, Abdel-Majed Abdel Bary, 23, from Maida Vale, west London, is also on the list of Londoners that MI6 want to find, according to the newspaper.

He tweeted a picture of himself holding up a severed head and has a similar accent to the man who killed Mr Foley.

The Telegraph says a third man is Aine Davis, 30, from Hammersmith, who converted to Islam and flew to Syria to fight.

James Foley was captured in Aleppo in Syria in 2012 whilst reporting on the country’s civil war.

A video has been released of him shaven-headed and clad in an orange jumpsuit in the Syrian desert - before a jihadi fighter with a London accent kills him.

The Met warned that watching or sharing the video may be an act of terrorism itself. The Foley family also requested people not to watch it.
