Three men are suspected of hurling homophobic abuse, threatening and spitting at staff on the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) - and police are appealing for readers’ help identifying them.

The men are thought to have carried out the verbal and physical assaults in three separate incidents at Devons Road, Canning Town and Limehouse DLR stations.

Detectives from the British Transport Police have released CCTV images of the men as part of an appeal for the public to help identify them.

Det Insp Jim Chamberlain said: “Tube staff should not have to endure abuse or violence for simply carrying out their job.”

One man is suspected of threatening a member of staff at Devons Road station on the evening of December 15. Another is suspected of spitting at staff on the afternoon of December 20 at Limehouse station, and a third man is suspected of hurling homophobic abuse at staff on October 1 at Canning Town station.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to call them on 0800 40 50 40 quoting B7 LUA of 27/02/13. Alternatively call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
