A 34-year-old man has been charged with assault following an attack on a security guard at a 99p store in East Ham.

Police were called to the shop on High Street North on Friday evening to find the employee had suffered head injuries.

The suspect has been bailed to appear at Thames Magistrates Court on April 24.
