An East Ham man who indecently exposed himself on trains across London, Hertfordshire and Essex has received a nine-month suspended sentence.

Liam Parker, 29, of William Morley Close, pleaded guilty to four charges of indecent exposure and was sentenced at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Friday, August 15.

The court heard how a woman travelling between Fenchurch Street and Grays tweeted photographs of Parker exposing and touching himself on the train on June 10.

CCTV images were captured of him leaving the train at Barking, with several witnesses coming forward after an appeal.

Further CCTV analysis showed Parker had also indecently exposed himself at Barking station on June 13 and again on a train between Bruce Grove and Liverpool Street on June 24.

The court also heard a man matching Parker’s description had exposed himself on a train between Cheshunt and Theobolds Grove on May 30.

Det Con Jon Howlett said: “As a result of our initial appeal for information, we received calls linking Parker to other offences.

“The women who reported these offences felt threatened by his behaviour and I would also like to thank them for having the courage to report what they had seen.

“I hope the sentencing sends out a clear message British Transport Police will do everything in its power to eradicate unwanted sexual behaviour on the rail network.”

Parker was also ordered to attend 100 hours of a sex offenders’ treatment programme, given a 24 month supervision order and told to pay costs of £800 plus a £100 victim surcharge.
